Analysis of the activity of vascular centers in the Pskov region. Problems, prospects
Abstract
Introduction. The article presents the assessment of the effectiveness of the regional program of the Pskov region “Combating Cardiovascular Diseases” and their impact on the indicators and structure of mortality from cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in the region. The aim of the work is to analyze the activities of the network of vascular centers of the Pskov region from the beginning of their creation to the present. Materials and methods. The methodology of the work consists in analyzing the dynamics of statistical indicators of the volume of medical care provided in vascular centers, hospital mortality from acute forms of CVD and mortality from acute and chronic forms of CVD in the region as a whole. The main results of the work showed that during the existence of the network of vascular centers, the volume of specialized medical care provided by the centers, including high-tech, has rapidly increased. In addition, there was a rapid decrease in hospital mortality from acute forms of CVD, after which the dynamics of the mortality rate slowed down without a significant effect on the mortality rate. It was concluded that the activities of vascular centers in terms of providing specialized and high-tech medical care led to the achievement of the short-term goals of the program, but did not have a significant impact on the strategic goals. In order to reduce the mortality rate, the main vector of activities in the future should be shifted towards the outpatient link and aimed at primary and secondary prevention. Vascular centers should assume the function of coordinating measures for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of CVD in the region as a whole, including conducting a clinical and epidemiological analysis of CVD, and organizational and methodological management of medical organizations in the region.
